Albums To Watch Out Before The End Of 2018

2018 has been such an exciting year in the music space with lots of fantastic songs released from some of our popular Nigerian acts, as well as some emerging acts.

From projects like Adekunle Golds’s About 30, Burna Boy’s Outside, MI’s Yung Denzel, Brymo’s Oso, Wani’s Lagos City Vice, Jinmi Abdul’s’ Jolag 2, and so on, everyone seems to be making a mark in their own unique way that we love and appreciate.

As the year gradually wraps up, there are some musical projects that we expect to make major headlines and these are the top 5 music projects that have made our waiting list:

Ycee – Ain’t No Body Badder Than (ANBT):

Ycee ANBT

Nigerian rap sensation and Tinny Entertainment frontman, Ycee revealed a while back in an interview with Julie Adenuga on Apple’s Beats 1 radio that his debut album, ‘Ain’t No Body Badder Than (ANBT)’ would be released this month, September. The album comes after his 2017 ‘First Wave‘ EP and the impressive collaborative EP ‘Late Night Vibrations‘ with label mate Bella which was released earlier this year.

Considering the weight of both projects, we expect nothing but solid vibes.

Mayorkun:

In January of 2018, Mayorkun hinted on dropping his debut album, although no date was fixed, however, he said he was 80% done at that time.

Some days ago, the headies next rated winner took to his Twitter page to reassure his fans that he would be dropping his album still against all odds.

Tekno:

We are almost at that point where any statement Tekno makes regarding his debut album will no longer hold water for us after declaring it a good number of times but never went through with it. Having been on a winning streak for quite a while, the ‘Jogodo‘ singer has hinted he will be releasing his album soon. But how soon is it? We are not completely sure but we stay hopeful.

Davido:

Davido album 2018

Davido‘s sophomore album is considered to be one of the most anticipated of 2018 after dominating the airwaves and topping charts with his 2017 hits like IF, Fall, FIA and so on, as well as winning some of the biggest awards, locally and internationally, it only makes sense it will develop much interest from his fans.

The Afro-pop singer had earlier announced his album will drop in September (this month) during his Headies Award 2018 acceptance speech.

Also, according to reports, there will also be a DMW compilation album slated to be released sometime this year.

Wizkid:

Wizkid Made in lagos

After releasing his last project, ‘Sounds From The Other Side‘ which earned him more global recognition but only managed to have a local appeal, Wizkid is going back to basics this time with his fourth studio album titled, ‘Made In Lagos‘.

The Afrop-pop star has contributed to a handful of the biggest hits we have heard this year like Soco, Fake Love, Nowo, Kana, just to mention a few, therefore the Made In Lagos album is definitely something to brace up for.

Kizz Daniel – No Bad Songz:

Ahead of the release of his sophomore album scheduled for this month, singer Kizz Daniel (formerly, Kiss Daniel) has shared more insight into what to expect from the project with the release of the tracklist.

The album will contain 20 songs, which surprisingly doesn’t feature some of his previously released singles like For You‘ featuring Wizkid, or the love hit song, 4dayz.
